Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 3.8¢ to 206.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 3 December, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 4.2¢ to 203.8¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 3.4¢ to 208¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 222.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (211.1¢), Queensland (207.7¢), NSW/ACT (206.2¢), Victoria (205.4¢), Western Australia (203.4¢), and South Australia (200.8¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 194.6¢ a litre, followed by Perth (199.2¢), Sydney (201.8¢), Darwin (202.1¢), Melbourne (203.6¢), Hobart (207¢), Brisbane (208¢), and Canberra (210.2¢).
