The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 5.4¢ to 212.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 28 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 7.9¢ to 217.1¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.6¢ to 202.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Queensland at 220.5¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (217¢), NSW/ACT (211¢), the Northern Territory (208.5¢), South Australia (204.8¢), Tasmania (204.7¢), and Western Australia (196.1¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 195.1¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (196.1¢), Hobart (205.2¢), Adelaide (207¢), Canberra (210.8¢), Sydney (214.4¢), Melbourne (225¢), and Brisbane (230.6¢).
