The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 1¢ to 205¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 27 August, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.5¢ to 206.3¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 1.9¢ to 202.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Queensland at 215.2¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (210.3¢), Tasmania (206.1¢), Victoria (205.1¢), NSW/ACT (204.1¢), Western Australia (199.8¢), and South Australia (189.3¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 186.4¢ a litre, followed by Perth (198.8¢), Darwin (199.9¢), Sydney (203.1¢), Hobart (204.8¢), Canberra (205.3¢), Melbourne (207.9¢), and Brisbane (222.9¢).
