The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 5.8¢ to 206.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 27 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 8¢ to 206.3¢, while the regional price fell 1.4¢ to 207.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Tasmania at 218.4¢ a litre, followed by Northern Territory (213.3¢), NSW/ACT (207.4¢), Queensland (207.1¢), South Australia (206¢), Western Australia (205.7¢), and Victoria (204.9¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 204.2¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (205¢), Adelaide (205.5¢), Brisbane (207.1¢), Sydney (207.4¢), Canberra (208.1¢), Darwin (209.4¢), and Hobart (222¢).
