Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 4.5¢ to 180.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 25 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 6¢ to 179.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell by 1.8¢ to 181¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 193¢ a litre, followed by South Australia (185.8¢), Tasmania (183.4¢), NSW/ACT (180.1¢), Queensland (179.8¢), Victoria (179.3¢), and Western Australia (176.3¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 174.8¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (177.7¢), Darwin (177.9¢), Melbourne (179.6¢), Brisbane (180.3¢), Hobart (182¢), Canberra (185.2¢), and Adelaide (188.4¢).
