The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 0.1¢ to 191.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 23 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.8¢ to 192.3¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 1.7¢ to 189.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Queensland at 198.8¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (198.2¢), Tasmania (194.4¢), South Australia (192.6¢), NSW/ACT (189.5¢), Victoria (189¢), and Western Australia (186.5¢).
Of the major cities, Darwin offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 183.7¢ a litre, followed by Perth (185.7¢), Sydney (188.8¢), Canberra (190.2¢), Melbourne (190.5¢), Adelaide (193.7¢), Hobart (193.9¢), and Brisbane (203.8¢).
