The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 1.4¢ to 180¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 23 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.4¢ to 178¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 1.5¢ to 184.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 200.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (193.4¢), Western Australia (189.1¢), South Australia (181.4¢), Victoria (178.3¢), NSW/ACT (178¢), and Queensland (177.7¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 172.7¢ a litre, followed by Brisbane (175¢), Melbourne (177.8¢), Adelaide (180.1¢), Canberra (187¢), Darwin (187.9¢), Perth (188¢), and Hobart (193¢).
