The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 14.1¢ to 199.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 22 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 17.7¢ to 202.1¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 6.9¢ to 193.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 204¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (202.4¢), Victoria (201.1¢), NSW/ACT (199.2¢), Tasmania (199¢), Western Australia (195.6¢), and South Australia (188.4¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 187.3¢ a litre, followed by Canberra (194.5¢), Darwin (195.9¢), Perth (196.1¢), Hobart (199.6¢), Sydney (203.8¢), Melbourne (205.5¢), and Brisbane (206.9¢).
