Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 2¢ to 209.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 22 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 2.2¢ to 208.3¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 1.9¢ to 211.3¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 218.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (217.6¢), South Australia (211.3¢), Queensland (210.4¢), Victoria (210.1¢), NSW/ACT (209.3¢), and Western Australia (206.8¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 204.3¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (206.2¢), Sydney (207.2¢), Melbourne (208.6¢), Darwin (210.1¢), Brisbane (210.3¢), Canberra (211.2¢), and Hobart (218.8¢).
