The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 6.5¢ to 206.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 21 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 8.8¢ to 209.2¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 1.7¢ to 201.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in NSW/ACT at 214.6¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (208.1¢), Tasmania (202.9¢), Victoria (202.9¢), Queensland (198.1¢), Western Australia (194.6¢), and South Australia (189¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 185.9¢ a litre, followed by Perth (193.4¢), Darwin (195¢), Hobart (203.2¢), Melbourne (206.5¢), Canberra (211¢), Brisbane (220.1¢), and Sydney (220.4¢).
