The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 0.9¢ to 182.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 21 January, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.2¢ to 182.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.4¢ to 182.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 197.5¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (196.2¢), Tasmania (184.6¢), Western Australia (180.3¢), NSW/ACT (180¢), Victoria (178.7¢), and South Australia (173.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 170.9¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (176.9¢), Melbourne (178.2¢), Perth (178.5¢), Hobart (182.4¢), Darwin (183¢), Canberra (184.8¢), and Brisbane (203.9¢).
