The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 3.9¢ to 139.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending June 16, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 4.1¢ to 138.4¢ a litre, with the regional price falling 3.4¢ to 142.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 155.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (153.5¢), Victoria (141.6¢), WA (140.1¢), Queensland (138.3¢), NSW/ACT (139.9¢) and South Australia (131.4¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 128.3¢ a litre, followed by Brisbane (136.1¢), Sydney (137.8¢), Perth (137.9¢), Melbourne (142.2¢), Canberra (144.8¢), Darwin (145.1¢) and Hobart (153.4¢).
