The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 14.9¢ to 212.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 20 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 15.9¢ to 214.3¢, while the regional price rose 13¢ to 208.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Tasmania at 221¢ a litre, followed by South Australia (216.1¢), Queensland (214.6¢), Northern Territory (212.9¢), Victoria (212.9¢), NSW/ACT (211.8¢), and Western Australia (205.1¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 203.1¢ a litre, followed by Canberra (208.6¢), Darwin (209.2¢), Sydney (214.8¢), Melbourne (215.4¢), Brisbane (217.6¢), Adelaide (218.7¢), and Hobart (223¢).
