The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 3.8¢ to 185.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 2 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 4.5¢ to 182.9¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 2.6¢ to 190¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 203¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (199¢), NSW/ACT (187.2¢), Queensland (186¢), Western Australia (185.9¢), Victoria (183¢), and South Australia (176.3¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 171.8¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (181.8¢), Brisbane (182.7¢), Perth (183.8¢), Sydney (184.8¢), Darwin (188.6¢), Hobart (198.5¢), and Canberra (202.2¢).
