The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 1.1¢ to 140.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 14 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 2.1¢ to 142.7¢ a litre, with the regional price rising by 1.2¢ to 135.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Victoria at 147.8¢ a litre, followed by the NSW/ACT (143.1¢), NT (143.0¢), Tasmania (137.5¢), Western Australia (136.3¢), Queensland (132.9¢), and South Australia (129.0¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 127.5¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (132.0¢), Brisbane (132.6¢), Perth (136.1¢), Canberra (137.0¢), Hobart (137.4¢), Sydney (149.2¢) and Melbourne (152.7¢).
