The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 10.5¢ to 136.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending February 24, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 13.8¢ to 138.3¢ a litre, with the regional price rising 3.9¢ to 134.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 142.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (140.9¢), Queensland (137.8¢), NSW/ACT (137.3¢), Victoria (136.9¢), SA (136.7¢) and WA (133.2¢).
Of the major cities, Darwin offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 128.3¢ a litre, followed by Perth (130.9¢), Sydney (138.3¢), Adelaide (138.6¢), Melbourne (139.4¢), Hobart (140.3¢), Brisbane (140.9¢) and Canberra (142¢).
