The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 5.7¢ to 184.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 18 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 7.5¢ to 185.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell by 1.7¢ to 182.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 194.7¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (187.1¢), NSW/ACT (186.4¢), Victoria (185.8¢), Tasmania (183.1¢), South Australia (178.4¢), and Western Australia (176.6¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 174.9¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (178¢), Darwin (180.1¢), Hobart (181.9¢), Canberra (186.3¢), Sydney (187.2¢), Melbourne (188.1¢), and Brisbane (190.6¢).
