The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 2.7¢ to 204.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 17 September, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 3.7¢ to 205¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 0.6¢ to 203¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 212.8¢ a litre, followed by NSW/ACT (212¢), Tasmania (208.8¢), Western Australia (203.3¢), Queensland (202.9¢), Victoria (199.9¢), and South Australia (191¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 187.8¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (200.5¢), Perth (202.1¢), Darwin (202.6¢), Brisbane (203.4¢), Canberra (205.1¢), Hobart (208.2¢), and Sydney (218.4¢).
