The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia remained at 186.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 17 December, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.4¢ to 185.5¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 2.8¢ to 187.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 202.6¢ a litre, followed by NSW/ACT (191.1¢), Tasmania (189.4¢), South Australia (184.5¢), Queensland (184.2¢), Western Australia (183.1¢), and Victoria (182.3).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 180.7¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (181.2¢), Brisbane (182.9¢), Adelaide (185¢), Hobart (187.5¢), Darwin (187.8¢), Canberra (191.3¢), and Sydney (194¢).
