The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 6.5¢ to 114.0¢ a litre nationally in the week ending April 12, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped by 7.7¢ to 110.6¢ a litre, with the regional price dropping by 4.2¢ to 120.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Northern Territory at 139.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (132.6¢), Victoria (116.5¢), NSW/ACT (113.7¢), Queensland and South Australia (112.2¢), and Western Australia (107.3¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 101.2¢ a litre, followed by Brisbane (107.3¢), Sydney (109.1¢), Adelaide (110.1¢), Melbourne (115.6¢), Darwin (125.8¢), Canberra (127.2¢), and Hobart (135.1¢).
