The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 3.8¢ to 191.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 16 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 3.7¢ to 193.1¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 3.9¢ to 187.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Queensland at 196.4¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (195.5¢), Victoria (192.5¢), Tasmania (191.8¢), NSW/ACT (191.2¢), Western Australia (185.3¢), and South Australia (182.5¢).
Of the major cities, Darwin offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 180.6¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (180.7¢), Perth (184.8¢), Canberra (187.2¢), Hobart (191.3¢), Sydney (193¢), Melbourne (196¢), and Brisbane (201.5¢).
