The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia increased by 0.1¢ to 126.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending September 10, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s Weekly Petrol Prices report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price remained at 126.5¢ a litre, with the regional price increasing 0.3¢ to 127.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in Tasmania at 135.7¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (131.3¢), NSW/ACT (130.5¢), Western Australia (127.8¢), Queensland (126.7¢), Victoria (123¢), and South Australia (120.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 118.8¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (122.1¢), Brisbane (125.1¢), Perth (127¢), Canberra (127.8), Darwin (128.2¢), Sydney (134¢), and Hobart (135.9¢).
