The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 1.4¢ to 183.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 14 January, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.2¢ to 183.8¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.9¢ to 183.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 198.2¢ a litre, followed by South Australia (190.2¢), Tasmania (185.3¢), Victoria (184.4¢), Queensland (183.5¢), NSW/ACT (182.4¢), and Western Australia (179.2¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 176.9¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (180.3¢), Hobart (183.1¢), Darwin (183.8¢), Brisbane (185.2¢), Melbourne (185.6¢), Canberra (186.3¢), and Adelaide (194.1¢).
