The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia stayed at 151.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 8 August, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 0.5¢ to 151.8¢ a litre, with the regional price rising 1.0¢ to 148.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was the NT at 159.6¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (156.1¢), Tasmania (154.4¢), Queensland (152.9¢), Western Australia (149.8¢), NSW/ACT (148.4¢), and South Australia (141.7¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 138.8¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (146.5¢), Perth (149.4¢), Darwin (150.5¢), Canberra (151.6¢), Hobart (154.0¢), Brisbane (155.3¢), and Melbourne (155.3¢).
