The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 13.7¢ to 197.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 13 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 14¢ to 198.4¢, while the regional price rose 12.9¢ to 195.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Tasmania at 207.9¢ a litre, followed by Northern Territory (205.1¢), South Australia (202.3¢), Western Australia (201¢), Victoria (196.6¢), NSW/ACT (196.2¢), and Queensland (195.7¢)
Of the major cities, Brisbane offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 195.9¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (196.4¢), Melbourne (197.8¢), Canberra (200¢), Darwin (201.3¢), Perth (201.8¢), Adelaide (204.3¢), and Hobart (208.5¢).
