The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 2.3¢ to 176.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 13 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 6.2¢ to 177.8¢, while the regional price rose 2.8¢ to 175.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 187.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (183.8¢), Western Australia (180.2¢), Victoria (179.4¢), Queensland (178.4¢), NSW/ACT (173.8¢), and South Australia (170.7¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 169.6¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (171.8¢), Canberra (177.3¢), Brisbane (180.5¢), Perth (181¢), Darwin (181.6¢), Melbourne (182.3¢), and Hobart (185.2¢).
