The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 2.1¢ to 199¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 12 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 3.4¢ to 199.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.6¢ to 197.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 208.6¢ a litre, followed by South Australia (205.1¢), Victoria (204.3¢), Tasmania (203.8¢), NSW/ACT (196.4¢), Western Australia (196.4¢), and Queensland (194.5¢).
Of the major cities, Brisbane offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 193.1¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (194.7¢), Perth (194.7¢), Darwin (199.5¢), Canberra (200.6¢), Hobart (201.8¢), Adelaide (206.9¢), and Melbourne (208.5¢).
