Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 3.6¢ to 211.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 12 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 3.5¢ to 209.5¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 3.6¢ to 212.9¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 222.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (219.6¢), South Australia (212.2¢), Queensland (211.9¢), NSW/ACT (211.1¢), Victoria (210.3¢), and Western Australia (209.2¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 206.3¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (208.5¢), Melbourne (208.9¢), Adelaide (211¢), Brisbane (211.6¢), Darwin (213.1¢), Canberra (214.4¢), and Hobart (220¢).
