Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 1.9¢ to 182.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 12 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.6¢ to 182.3¢ a litre, while the regional price fell by 0.5¢ to 182.5¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 194.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (187.7¢), Queensland (186.8¢), South Australia (183.5¢), Victoria (182.2¢), NSW/ACT (179.8¢), and Western Australia (178.4¢).

Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 176.6¢ a litre, followed by Perth (177.0¢), Darwin (179.9¢), Adelaide (183.6¢), Melbourne (183.8¢), Canberra (183.9¢), and Hobart (187.5¢).
