The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 2.7¢ to 132.0¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 7 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 4.4¢ to 134.4¢ a litre, with the regional price rising by 1.0¢ to 127.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Victoria at 135.4¢ a litre, followed by South Australia (134.1¢), NSW/ACT (132.6¢), NT (132.1¢), Queensland (129.1¢), Western Australia (127.7¢), and Tasmania (126.8¢).
Of the major cities, Darwin offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 119.4¢ a litre, followed by Hobart (126.4¢), Canberra (126.7¢), Perth (127.6¢), Brisbane (130.8¢), Sydney (137.0¢), Adelaide (137.5¢) and Melbourne (138.2¢).
