Weekly diesel prices

The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose by 1.0¢ to 124.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 7 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.2¢ to 123.9¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 1.0¢ to 125.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 137.2¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (132.2¢), Victoria (125.5¢), NSW/ACT (124.5¢), Western Australia (124.3¢), South Australia (123.4¢) and Queensland (123.1¢).

Of the major cities, Darwin offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 120.1¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (121.4¢), Perth (122.0¢), Sydney (122.9¢), Brisbane (123.8¢), Melbourne (125.5¢), Canberra (127.7¢) and Hobart (132.1¢).
