The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 6.3¢ to 186.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 10 December, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 7.9¢ to 184.1¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 3.2¢ to 190.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 204.3¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (194¢), Tasmania (191.1¢), Western Australia (186.5¢), Victoria (182.7), NSW/ACT (185.4¢), and South Australia (176.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 172.4¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (181.2¢), Melbourne (180.7¢), Perth (184.4¢), Hobart (188.2¢), Darwin (189.7¢), Canberra (192.8¢), and Brisbane (196.2¢).
