The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 5.4¢ to 211.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 9 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 4.9¢ to 209¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 5.7¢ to 212.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 225.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (215¢), NSW/ACT (212.5¢), South Australia (210.8¢), Queensland (210.2¢), Victoria (209.8¢), and Western Australia (209.5¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 205.6¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (207.6¢), Melbourne (208.7¢), Darwin (208.7¢), Brisbane (209.2¢), Sydney (210.7¢), Canberra (215.5¢), and Hobart (216¢).
