The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 2¢ 185.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 8 September, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.1¢ to 183.7¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 2.1¢ to 186.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 206.7¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (186.8¢), NSW/ACT (186.5¢), Victoria (185.7¢), Tasmania (185.5¢), South Australia (181.8¢), and Western Australia (179.6¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 176¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (178.2¢), Darwin (181.2¢), Sydney (183¢), Melbourne (185.1¢), Hobart (185.4¢), Brisbane (187.4¢), and Canberra (196.7¢).
