The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.3¢ to 212.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 8 January, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.3¢ to 210.3¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.2¢ to 214.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 235.1¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (216.3¢), Tasmania (216.3¢), Victoria (213.7¢), NSW/ACT (213¢), South Australia (206.7¢), and Western Australia (202.7¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 198.8¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (200.9¢), Sydney (208.1¢), Melbourne (212.2¢), Hobart (213.7¢), Brisbane (216.3¢), Canberra (219.1¢), and Darwin (221.5¢).
