Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 0.9¢ 194.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 7 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.3¢ to 193.3¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.5¢ to 195.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 211.9¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (196.1¢), Victoria (195.5¢), Tasmania (195.4¢), NSW/ACT (194.4¢), South Australia (191.7¢), and Western Australia (189.4¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 185.8¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (186.4¢), Darwin (188¢), Sydney (191.9¢), Hobart (194.7¢), Melbourne (195.2¢), Brisbane (197.2¢), and Canberra (205.5¢).
