The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia remained at 201.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 7 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.1¢ to 199.5¢ a litre, while the regional price remained at 202.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 219.2¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (206.4¢), NSW/ACT (201.8¢), Queensland (201.8¢), Victoria (200.9¢), South Australia (200¢), and Western Australia (198.2¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 194¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (195.5¢), Sydney (198.6¢), Darwin (198.9¢), Melbourne (201¢), Brisbane (201.4¢), Hobart (205.7¢), and Canberra (208.7¢).
