The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 1.1¢ to 207.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 5 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.3¢ to 206¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.9¢ to 209.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 219.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (216.8¢), Queensland (208.7¢), NSW/ACT (207.5¢), Victoria (207¢), South Australia (206.2¢), and Western Australia (205.5¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 201.3¢ a litre, followed by Perth (202.6¢), Sydney (203.8¢), Melbourne (205.9¢), Brisbane (208.5¢), Darwin (209.6¢), Canberra (209.9¢), and Hobart (218.4¢).
