The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.8¢ 192.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 4 August, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.6¢ to 190.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.8¢ to 193.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 211¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (194.3¢), Queensland (193.7¢), Victoria (193.1¢), NSW/ACT (192.5¢), South Australia (189.3¢), and Western Australia (187.4¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 184.1¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (185.9¢), Darwin (186.6¢), Sydney (189.7¢), Melbourne (193¢), Hobart (193.3¢), Brisbane (193.8¢), and Canberra (202.8¢).
