The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 3.4¢ 187.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 30 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 3.8¢ to 186.6¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 2.9¢ to 188.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 213.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (190.6¢), Victoria (188.4¢), NSW/ACT (188.3¢), Queensland (187.8¢), South Australia (185.1¢), and Western Australia (184.2¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 181¢ a litre, followed by Perth (181.5¢), Sydney (185.9¢), Melbourne (187.1¢), Brisbane (188.2¢), Hobart (189¢), Canberra (195.4¢), and Darwin (199.6¢).
