Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 1.6¢ to 188¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 30 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 3.1¢ to 188.7¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 1.4¢ to 186.5¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 196.2¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (192.6¢), Tasmania (189.8¢), South Australia (188.6¢), Victoria (188.5¢), NSW/ACT (185.9¢), and Western Australia (183.2¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 182.8¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (183.4¢), Sydney (183.6¢), Canberra (186.6¢), Hobart (188¢), Melbourne (190.4¢), Adelaide (190.5¢), and Brisbane (196.7¢).
