The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.9¢ to 187.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 30 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.1¢ to 185.5¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.8¢ to 188.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 207.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (189.5¢), Queensland (188.8¢), NSW/ACT (186.8¢), Victoria (186.5¢), Western Australia (184.6¢), and South Australia (184.2¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 181.2¢ a litre, followed by Perth (181.3¢), Sydney (183.3¢), Melbourne (184.9¢), Darwin (185.7¢), Hobart (188.4¢), Brisbane (189.5¢), and Canberra (195¢).
