The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 6.1¢ to 213.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 3 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 7¢ to 212¢ a litre, while the regional fell 5.4¢ to 215.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 222¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (219.2¢), Queensland (215.1¢), South Australia (213.8¢), NSW/ACT (213.6¢), Victoria (212.6¢), and Western Australia (212¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 209.4¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (209.5¢), Sydney (209.6¢), Melbourne (211¢), Canberra (214.8¢), Brisbane (215¢), Darwin (218.6¢), and Hobart (220.8¢).
