The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose 1.5¢ to 139.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 27 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 1.4¢ to 138.6¢ a litre, with the regional price rising by 1.5¢ to 140.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 156.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (145.9¢), NSW/ACT (140.0¢), Queensland (139.6¢), South Australia (139.6¢), Victoria (138.8¢), and Western Australia (138.6¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 135.6¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (136.9¢), Melbourne (137.9¢), Sydney (138.5¢), Brisbane (140.1¢), Darwin (143.2¢), Canberra (144.0¢) and Hobart (145.8¢).
