The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 2.8¢ to 142.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 27 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 3.7¢ to 142.6¢ a litre, with the regional price rising 0.9¢ to 142.0¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 150.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (147.1¢), NSW/ACT (145.8¢), Western Australia (142.3¢), Queensland (140.8¢), Victoria (140.7¢), and South Australia (136.5¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 135.0¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (140.3¢), Brisbane (140.5¢), Perth (141.7¢), Melbourne (141.8¢), Hobart (146.8¢), Sydney (147.6¢), and Canberra (148.0¢).
