The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.7¢ to 205.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 29 January, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.5¢ to 202.7¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.9¢ to 207.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 231.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (213¢), Queensland (207.7¢), Victoria (205.6¢), NSW/ACT (205.4¢), South Australia (201.6¢), and Western Australia (198.1¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 193.6¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (195¢), Sydney (200.6¢), Melbourne (203.7¢), Brisbane (207¢), Hobart (210.4¢), Canberra (212.5¢), and Darwin (217.2¢).
