The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 2.3¢ to 194.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 28 January, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 2.5¢ to 192.3¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 2.1¢ to 196.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 213¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (199.1¢), NSW/ACT (195.4¢), Queensland (195.2¢), Victoria (193.3¢), Western Australia (192.3¢), and South Australia (191.6¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 187.3¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (189.2¢), Darwin (190.5¢), Sydney (191.6¢), Melbourne (192.1¢), Brisbane (195.5¢), Hobart (197.2¢), and Canberra (203.2¢).
