The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 2.9¢ to 231.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 27 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 3.1¢ to 230.2¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 2.8¢ to 232.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 249.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (242.4¢), NSW/ACT (235.2¢), Queensland (233.5¢), Victoria (231.5¢), South Australia (225.4¢), and Western Australia (224.2¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 220.9¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (221.3¢), Sydney (229.4¢), Melbourne (231.4¢), Brisbane (233.8¢), Canberra (236.3¢), Darwin (239¢), and Hobart (242.2¢).
