The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 10.9¢ to 230.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 26 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 11.1¢ to 229.1¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 10.8¢ to 232¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in Tasmania at 238.6¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (238.2¢), South Australia (232.5¢), Victoria (231.6¢), NSW/ACT (230.4¢), Queensland (230.3¢), and Western Australia (227.5¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 225.1¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (228.5¢), Brisbane (229.9¢), Darwin (230.1¢), Melbourne (230.7¢), Adelaide (232¢), Canberra (232.6¢), and Hobart (237.7¢).
