Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 1.3¢ to 200.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 26 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.3¢ to 197.8¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.3¢ to 202.7¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 227.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (211.1¢), Queensland (201.9¢), NSW/ACT (201.8¢), Victoria (200.3¢), South Australia (197.3¢), and Western Australia (192.4¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 187.5¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (191.8¢), Sydney (197.9¢), Melbourne (198.8¢), Brisbane (200.8¢), Hobart (209.5¢), Canberra (210.9¢), and Darwin (212.5¢).
